Saggar

Clay is formed into shapes, burnished, dried and then bisque fired.  The pieces are fired again in a saggar contained in the gas kiln.  The saggar holds organic materials, metal wire, and chemicals.  The fired pieces are then cooled, washed and waxed.  For decorative use only

Horsehair

Clay is formed into shapes, burnished, dried and bisque fired.  The pieces are fired again in a gas kiln.  While hot, each piece is removed from the kiln and tail hair is singed onto the piece before it cools.  The ware is then cleaned and waxed.  For decorative use only.
